Sitting. Pretty

Sitting. Pretty

My two new companions continue to develop their personalities as they grow. Pip is still pretty small, but Pudge is gainong steadily. Though they are sisters, they are complete opposites, physically and temperament. Pudge is outgoing and assertive with her tail high in the air. She likes to crouch on her hindlegs to peer at something she's curious about, then jump right in. She is the Yin. Pip is much more timid employing stalking movements as she prepares to jump on her sister. She cries alot and carries her tail down. She doesn't appear sick, but they will soon be getting their kitten Vet checks. Pip is the Yang, staying low to the earth.

If you live with a cat or cats, and want to understand and train them the Taoist way, I reccommend The Tao of Meow, by Deborah Wood, a Random House softcover book.

Till next time, adieu from the three of us.

Day 1- The Setup

This sucks already. After uploading a photo and adding and saving much of the dashboard, I discovered that it didn't save at all... another wasted segment of precious time. Another day, another effort...

A Walk in the Woods

Physically and mentally, a walk in the woods has always been my most effective way to lift depression, to beat down anxiety, and to get re-
centered by literally touching nature. Reconnecting to the Earth was equal to rediscovering myself on all levels.
All five senses, and usually the sixth, came into play as I walked the ancient deer trails and climbed over fallen tree trunks hanging with Spanish moss. I would place my hands on an evergreen next to my path, feeling the roughness of it's bark, or let my fingers caress the smoothness of Ponderosa Pine needles or the softness of cedar fronds, soothed by their scent. This was North Idaho. This was my home.
I could feel my heart beating in my chest, the blood flowing to my muscles, savor the clear pungent air as I drew it into my lungs. Always I sucked on a bitter cedar twig or chewed on a sweet blade of Timothy grass, letting the juices trickle down the back of my throat. It was part of the ritual. Pine needles and fallen twigs crunched softly beneath my feet. The raucous scolding of a chipmunk's voice assaulted my ears from close at hand.
My feet knew every path by heart. When I reached a clearing
